Carnival/Mardi Gras

Carnival is a festive season which occurs immediately before Lent; the main events are usually during February. Carnival typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public street party. People often dress up or masquerade during the celebrations, which mark an overturning of daily life.

On February 7, 2010, Nan’s Antique Costumes and Props featured in the LI Life section of Newsday, just in time for Carnival and Mardi Gras!

Revelers from all over the world will don costumes & masks to take part in this celebrated annual event which takes place before the fasting for Lent. Antique Costume and Prop Rental is ready for them. From our vast collection, they can choose something simple from the Medieval period to a very elaborate court costume of the Renaissance. For years, our costumes have graced ballrooms all over the US and Europe – including the palace at Versailles
